Connecticut Republican Party Chairman Chris Healy was
arrested for drunk driving.  This was Healy’s second DUI
arrest.  His first arrest was in Connecticut in March 2002,
when he received a suspended sentence and an 18-month
probation term.

alcohol in her blood.  She was sentenced to 10 days in jail.

Republican District Attorney in Durango Colorado, Craig Westberg was
arrested for driving under the influence of sleeping pills and causing an
accident.  Westberg has pleaded not guilty to the charges from October of
2007, and a trial has been set for May 19, 2008.
In 1978, Westberg was arrested twice for drunken driving. On one of those occasion he hit a
horse with his car and served fifteen days in jail.  He was serving as district attorney in
Durango at the time.

DUI.   Her was license suspended for 30 days and she was restricted to driving

Kansas State Senator, Republican Edward Pugh was arrested for DUI.  He
was sentenced to a diversion agreement where the charge was dismissed at
the end of a year if he isn't involved in a similar offense, and paid a fine of

Republican Matt Shaner, pleaded guilty to running a stop sign
and failing to report an accident.  Shaner reportedly left the scene
of his DWI after crashing his vehicle and then hid in his home
when the police arrived.

Republican Congressman Vito J. Fossella was arrested in
Alexandria, VA for DWI. Fossella is scheduled to appear in Alexandria
General District Court on May 12 for a hearing.  Fossella is facing a
$250 fine and revocation of his license for a year.  Depending on the
unreleased blood-alcohol level, he could be sentenced to 5 to 10
days in jail.
