Former North Carolina state
legislator, and currently on
the Cabarrus County Board
of Commissioners,
Republican
Coy Privette
has been charged with six
counts of aiding and
abetting prostitution.  On
August 22, 2007, he
pleaded guilty and the judge
agreed to expunge his
record upon completing 48
hours of community service,
saying he's only concerned
with "making sure the
behavior stopped."  Also on Privette’s resume was his
unsuccessful campaign for Governor in 1976 and President of
the Christian Action League.

Most of the higher ranks of the Republican party in North
Carolina have called for Privette to resign from the Cabarrus
County Board of Commissioners.  He has chosen not to.  Also
on Privette’s resume is his unsuccessful campaign for
Governor in 1976 and President of the Christian Action League.
